I’m fascinated by neon signs. They’re both kitschy and classic, and they act as landmarks as much as they do advertisements for their related businesses. They’re also ubiquitous: restaurants use neon, mechanics use neon, adult clubs use neon, it’s an interesting way to decorate a street and grab attention. In Austin there are almost as many signs as people and as a personal project I like to document them. Each one is a unique experience, as I often have to have an excuse, such as going to the bar, or eating at the restaurant. Some are also hard to get to, and some are in areas that I wouldn’t normally go to. If you want to hear some interesting stories send me an email!
